The actual tragedy is that they do not know how stupid he is. They are dumb & they like him because he is also dumb. They feel he is “one of us”. They are challenged by intellect, big words, history, current events & how politics works. With Trump comprehension is easy, “me good, everyone else bad”.

Honest to God, those pop bottles were salvation for many people. I had to escape a bad situation where I didn’t have access to my purse. I collected enough bottles to get bus fare back home. I bet there were a lot of people like me and your parents who were thankful that people littered bottles.

In your defense, it is truly difficult to talk to someone who is so fooled by a snake oil salesman like Trump, a lying, grifting, conman, who easily gaslights people like your brother and they can’t be persuaded to see the truth, no matter how obvious. My condolences to you.
