My memory’s not so bad after all.
My beautiful Fiona, who passed a few weeks after a family member. I held it together for him, but losing Fiona absolutely wrecked me. Scrappy manx Pecos, found me at a stable, insisted on sharing every meal, survived a copperhead bite, & kneaded my shoulder every night at bedtime for 18 years.

This guy showed up at my neighbors’, scared, on Halloween night 2009. Neighbors tried to find his owner. No one claimed him. He hung around the neighborhood as a stray for a few months. During a severe cold spell, I let him sleep in my garage. He was grateful. The cat distribution system—complete.
