Spacing has had a long and fruitful relationship with heritage architect Michael McClelland, who has authored or been interviewed for many articles in our pages over the years, and who has collaborated on some of our books. We congratulate him on being recognized with the Special Achievement Award.

While Spacing didn't win any awards at tonight's Toronto Heritage Awards, we're pleased to have connections to many of the winners. Spacing reviewed book winner "He Hijacked My Brain: Gary Topp's Toronto" in issue 70. 🧵

You'll also find some great pieces by @bobgeorgiouto.bsky.social on the birth of Toronto's patios, @jbcurio.bsky.social on the rise and decline of Toronto's cathedrals of commerce, the department stores, a double feature on fake historical plaques, and much more.
