Never mind the fact that NOTHING in the story makes sense (how can the protag still be brainwashed AND conditioned when a major plot point of the game is literally deprogramming the other characters???), the villains were just insufferable to listen to. Good actors, but godawful script.

It's so weird to me. Like, I get that Far Cry is known for having monkey's paw endings, but in every other game, there's always been an option to kill the villain. They really said "actually no, the white christian cultist can't be killed and also he was right about the end of the world somehow".

42) Far Cry 5

I really wanted to like a game that takes a stab at homegrown American terrorism and lets me shoot Christofascists, but the story in this one is so fucking toothless. Right up there with Bioshock fucking Infinite as one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. 👎

Part of me wants to write a proper Review for the website, but I've already been dragging my feet on the next TWO reviews, plus I have another planned for what is easily the best anime of the Fall 2025 season (and I can all but guarantee it's not the one you're thinking it is), so this is it.

Solid choice, I love those weird little fever dream cartoons!
