Finally I finished the grading for my class of “Deaf Culture and Signed Language” at Kanagawa University. This year the freshmen and the sophomores join the class and the total number of the students is almost 100.

My class of ”Sign Language and Deaf Culture” at Kanagawa University will have two more classes and then the examination for the class would be held in the latter half of this month.

Last Saturday I will host a monthly workshop of Introduction to General Linguistics for JSL signers. Every presentation and talk are only in Japanese Sign Language and written Japanese language. So far we conduct this workshop longer than for 15 years.

Our second girl enjoyed her weekend at Seoul, South Korea in the weekend. One of her club maytes now studied there and guided her friends and her. She enjoyed several local foods and different culture there.

These days, many rose flowers are in full bloom at my small gardens. We enjoy some of them on the dining table.

In the last weekend, I saw Dr. Brenda Nicodemus. I saw her at LI of LSA held at Univ. New Mexico in 1995 where she worked as one of ASL interpreters for the courses.

The anticancer treatments for my partner seems to work well. Today we have better result of the CT test of the affected area. I hope she could survive the hard time. Thank you, God.

Soon I will host the online Linguistics introduction workshop in Japanese Sign Language. Today our topics are onomatopeia origin theory and Sign Language variations. I look forward to enjoying the reporter's presentations.

I watched the French documentray of "In the belly of AI." It focus on the exploitation of Data worker by major AI companies and NGOsuch as Meta, Microsoft and Op en AI. I belueve all people should learn from this documentary about the hidden tragic snd awful facts behind AI.

It is the very nice version of Japanese Sign Language translation of Japanese National Anthem by native JSL Signers, JSL artists group. It includes the interesting features of JSL and I love it. It is one of the best and beautiful versions.

On coming Tuesday, my first half year class of “Sign Language and Deaf Culture” will begin 2025 course, which would be the second year for this univerdity. Several JSL/ spoken language interpreter team members would work with me.

March, 3rd is the doll festival in Japan, which celebrates the health and well-doing of the girls to display a set of ornamental dolls. Some families have the full set of dolls and we have this simple top two set.

Our attempt to publish our new book on Sign Languages in developing countries within this year seems to be going to turn out well with a famous linguistics special publisher in Japan. It will cover China, India, East Africa, West Africa, the Philippines and Brazil.

It is International Mother Language today, which was proclaimed by UN. As their webpage explained, the day is also related to SDGs and the Endangered language issue. We know that the language issue is always related to diversity.

I heard that Mr. Harumichi Saito would have his exhibition at Kabukicho, Shinjuku , in coming March. He is currently one of the most attracted Deaf photographers in Japan.

NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, aired a program introducing the activities of the broadcasting groups in Myanmar such as National Unity government’s broadcasting section and Mizzima. I learned much about the current situations there from the program.
