especially with preference-based map pools, and zones-preferred
i suspect it originated b/c of map/mode counterpick rules & trying to maintain some diversity of maps
but I can’t prove any of that
thats just my theory

seriously find a maplist with 3+ modes of a map nowadays
plenty of good map/modes are ignored to satisfy this kind of arbitrary requirement b/c 2 other modes on the map are good
see mako, inkblot, museum, scorch, manta…

better map than zones but zones is already underrated b/c of s2 trauma so nobody talks about that
the main reason clams gets dropped is b/c zones & rm are more popular and maplists are allergic to 3+ modes per map

this is probably a bad game design direction but it occurred to me while I was mathing out indirects to kill vs someone in ink for explo/bow/etc

after delay
kid form would take 4s to heal (0.4166/frame) & squid form would take 1.33s to heal (1.25/frame)
vs current values of 0.20833 and 1.66/frame
I see the vision
I was concerned about gutting slow aoe but I think ur dual approach (tune both toe stub & heal) balances it pretty nicely

do u think the swim mode healing should be slower, kid mode faster, or both?
they did increase the healing delay in s2 but then they reverted it
I definitely agree that touching enemy ink should probably add to the delay (exponentially) rather than resetting it, but it’s sensitive

made of ink
why shouldn’t they heal fast in ink
humans heal faster with wet bandages & we cant be reduced to water in the way inklings/octolings get reduced to ink (eg when splatted, or becoming invisible in extremely thin ink layers, or being respawned/reconstituted from a pool of ink)
