For all the benefits of releasing (part of) the Epstein files, it's unfortunate how so much of the coverage is focused on the records from the anonymous tip lines. The most horrific (and therefore, most clickable) claims are the ones that are impossible to verify and vet.

Bought and played Iron Lung last night, it's pretty good. Different from what I expected, but works very well. Now I'm just curious how it works as a movie...

Addendum: videos isolating a disturbing new trend when said "trend" is all people who have been paid to promote a specific product, usually tech dystopia bullshit, and there's no evidence real people are using it. Bonus points if the trend is full of bait to get people mad and engaging.
There's this genre of video I've been seeing on YouTube where the title/thumbnail make it look like a video essay of some kind, but it's really just someone reading TikTok comments and summarizing how people are "feeling" instead of actually making an argument.

I read 21 books last year - not a whole lot, but it's more than I have in the past, especially now that I'm reading for fun and not for college again. This year I've set a goal of 30, which is one book every 12 days or so. That sounds manageable.

Now that I'm technically in film preservation I'm going to start being really annoying about 4k remasters and arguing online about whether a new transfer is too teal or not.

I'm kind of so ready to go back north. Visiting family has been fun but exhausting and an 80-degree January 2nd is diabolical. I'm also dying to get back to the archive.

Today I was going through the CDs I bought while studying abroad and cataloguing them and I found a surprising number of unused stickers. They're probably too old for me to use myself so I'll just keep them in the cases, but it was a cool little surprise
