also i thought that the death valley was in driving distance from la because of the manson family living out there. and i assumed that's part of a desert (i may not be able to locate la on a map besides it being on the coast)

huh, i thought the effects of the gold rush would have dissipated by now... i need to look where central valley is because i mostly remember it being dry and desert-like
