I think it's funny that my hairiest dog, who gets hot easily, absolutely hates cold weather. Every time I let him outside, he runs back in. And a picture demonstrated the size difference between Andre & Halley.

Hot buttered rum tonight. So very good. I melt the butter, spices, & brown sugar together rather than muddle in the cup. In my opinion, it tastes better.

These banana leaves animals are among my treasured gifts. Simple & not worth much but were a gift by a shop owner who saw me admiring them. Small kindnesses make the world better.

A friend accidentally grew pumpkins from her bird feeder. I'm pretty sure this is a buckskin pumpkin, which has a mild flavor. The spices really stood out in the soup I made from the pumpkin.

Stick, who survived the infernal heat of a car in the summer & was thriving, could not survive the chaos known as Jack, who plucked Stick from the safety of his dirt & dashed him to the floor to be torn apart by the pack. RIP, Stick.

Andre & Halley rolled Jack in mud and, ah, let's call it dog waste. Lots of dog waste. That is when Jack jumped the fence & I had to lift him over the fence. Long baths for us both. I need to remember this the next time I am tempted to get another dog.

Wow! @carpelibrum.bsky.social surpassed my expectations with my book order! The books were in darn good shape for being used, but what was really unexpected was the personal delivery of books wrapped in tissue paper & red ribbon. I wish I had cash so I could have tipped the delivery person.

Poor Halley had a tumor removed. It wasn't well defined so the veterinarian took more surrounding tissue. She will have a badass scar.
