There was a resume builder website I went to once. It takes your info and puts it into a selected template. Basic stuff.

It positioned its functionality as using AI lmao. Exact type of shit you are talking about.

same energy as the marine recruiter that bugs you outside the hot topic in your small city's dying shopping mall.

I see this rare breed before me brother. What is it that appeals to you about OOT that puts it ahead of the entire pack in your mind?

But I also see that fire for the original Zelda and LTTP. Whereas I've always had OOT filed in my brain as "A Game You Greet With A Firm Respectful Handshake". Whereas I would die on the hill for Majora's Mask and Wind Waker both.

I feel like I see more passion, not respect, but genuine passion for every Zelda title that comes before and after OOT. Majora's Mask is my favorite, and that's an incredibly popular opinion now that it's borderline cliche on the internet. Less so in the late 90s/early 2000s.

A good game. Arguably the most influential game on 3D action-adventure game design. Allegedly the best video game ever made if Metacritic is to be believed.

Never anyone's favorite video game or even favorite Zelda game.

I'm sure someone will appear and say OOT is their favorite game and make a fool of me.

But I really cannot shake the feeling that OOT exists more in the zeitgeist as a Significant Historical Event in gaming than anything else.

Extremely twee posting on the importance of understanding. Thank you for coming to my show.

brother really did just shrug and say "hey man I just work here".

hirohito being allowed to die peacefully in his bed at the age of 87 is a real karmic injustice.

i like chocolate chip cookie dough and mint chip myself. i would never kick vanilla out of bed though.

i've had dynamics with people where all they want to do is lament the state of conventional taste, and i always wind up at the same talking point: "i would like to talk about things we like, and not just engage in this exercise of lamenting our constant frustration with the zeitgeist over and over."

5 hours late this time, but I just want to chime in to say this is very real. It's why I don't really have a lot of patience for perpetual complaining about normies and their taste, because eventually it's just like

"¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

*I do think Tomino is genuinely concerned with the interiority of women. But he has a really rigid idea of what "being a woman" is. Built into Gundam's core assumptions is that there are fundamentally immutable things about each sex.

I think Zeta was the worst of it, as fond of it as I am.

it is not a game I would dap up but instead greet with a courteous and firm handshake. this is where oot sits in my mind's eye.

It isn't the moral position, but nobody told you that it was. It's the truest loyalty you will actually find in a social order that prizes ruling through strength. You can find it blooming on the tips of the branches and leaves, all while the tree rots.

I've often thought about Ramba Ral and Crowley Hamon and why I find them so compelling. They are self-interested, but their self-interest is towards the well-being of each other.

Zeon? Polluting the earth? Who cares! Anything for each other. Their only loyalty is to each other.

Of course Char flew under the radar so easily. The brass always assumed he was acting in some kind of self-interest, because all members of the Zabi family and the military top brass exist in a culture of perpetual competition.

They just didn't realize Char's plan was to pull it apart at the seams.
