yeah that's the other thing, it's not even for anything interesting! i can forgive a lot of contrivances if it gets us somewhere worthwhile but it almost always felt like we were treading water to check off a route concept somebody wrote on a whiteboard at some point

it's such a good cast which makes it that much more painful...!!!! if they spent more time honing in on relationship dynamics between everyone it'd be such a different story. almost nothing i saw had any plot moving forward because of the characters feelings or angst or anything. just no tension

i want to believe in it so badly. but doing all the slasher routes immediately into the comedy routes hurt me in ways i can't explain and i don't know if i could take it a second time
