Jagged Edge (1985). As part of my own Jeff Bridges season, this film was a must. I think I've only seen bits of it on TV and hadn't watched the whole thing until today. There are so many layers and backstories, making it a fantastic watch #FilmSky

We're Not Married! (1952) The most striking thing about this film is the fact that almost every character seems overjoyed to find out they're not married #FilmSky

K-PAX (2001). Next in my Jeff Bridges season, he stars alongside Kevin Spacey. From the very start of the film I devoured it. There's a truly magical quality to it. Softley, Softley catchee monkey. Will you admit the possibility that Prot is from K-PAX? #FilmSky

The Beast In Me (2025). A proper crime thriller. It makes you feel so tense so much of the time. It even made me jump a couple of times. Clare Danes is the perfectly unself-assured writer opposite Matthew Rhys's unsettlingly convincing narcissistic neighbour #TVSky

Seabiscuit (2003). It's a true story, and... wait for it... wait... It's cheesy as fuck, but all the better for it. Touches of National Velvet in here, but how couldn't there be? #FilmSky

Bugonia (2025). Saw this with a colleague who wanted to see it again. They billed it as a horror. It's not. It's incredibly worth seeing though. If you haven't already, don't read about it or watch the trailer, just go. 2025 has been so good for movies! #FilmSky

The Mitfords: Letters Between Six Sisters (2007). Thought it would explain the link to Hitler. Really the far-right tore the family in two, those that admired and those that reviled. It's socio-economic history, too, and it's just sisters chatting. It's childhood to grave and fascinating #BookSky 📚

Lost in La Mancha (2002). A film about The Man who killed Don Quixote, which was never meant to be. It filmed for six days, everything that could go wrong did go wrong and the idea was abandoned. Seems pointless watching a film about something that didn't happen, but it's oddly compelling #FilmSky

The Big C (2010-2012). If you didn't think cancer could make you laugh, you're wrong. Sure, at the very end it tore me to pieces, but up till then it was mainly laughing, Laura Linney, Alan Alda, Susan Sarandon, Cynthia Nixon, JB Hickey, Phyllis Somerville, Idris Elba. Currently on Netflix #TVSky

Notes From A Big Country by Bill Bryson (1998). Collection of columns first seen in the Daily Hell. Luckily there's only one sentence in the whole book where he aligns himself with that despicable rag. Gets better towards the end. Penultimate column had me crying with laughter #BookSky 📚

The Giver (2014). A bit like the premise of A Brave New World, in that everyone thinks everything is great until they don't. Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep. Good use of black and white, washed out colour and full colour. Plus a surprise appearance by Taylor Swift #FilmSky

Look what I found yesterday, in deepest Londres! I adore this big fingers up to Farage, Johnson, and all the other morons on the Leave campaign and the twats who voted for it

Love I found these in this order. In tarot they're Three of Swords and King of Cups. The Three is a tumult of emotion, maybe hurt from others, but a reminder not to be overwhelmed by or get stuck in it. The King indicates the skills to maintain boundaries, stay true to yourself as others test you

Crazy Heart (2009). The cinematography and original score in this are outstanding (worth seeing just for those), outshining a middling story. Performances from Jeff Bridges and Maggie Gyllenhaal are top notch as always. There's even the surprise appearance of Colin Farrell with a pony tail #FilmSky

Memento (2000). A very blue and beige film with an anything but beige storyline. Unsettling and gripping. Like Leonard you never really know the entire story #FilmSky
