Had a great time talking prospects with you! Hopefully we can figure out a good time for you to come on our pod this winter too!

Health was a big part of it for my team this year

Good luck next year!

Appreciate the shout Jim! It was an awesome first season and I can’t wait to defend my crown against you and everyone else next year!

Should you add Kaelen Culpepper?

He's a fringe t100 prospect and should be rostered in nearly all dynasty leagues

That being said, I'm not a big believer in THIS level of power output so I do wonder if now is a good sell-high opportunity

At 49% his GB% is too high, but it's actually his near 20% HR/FB% that has me questioning his power. 10% is typically around average and with Culpepper's fringe-average power I would expect him to settle in as a 15-20 HR bat (and likely closer to 15 than 20)
August 5, 2025 at 9:36 PM
He hasn't been bad against either hand of pitcher, but the RHH Culpepper has displayed some reverse splits this year with regards to power

- 287 PA vs RHP: 13 HR, .544 SLG, .216 ISO
- 100 PA vs LHP: 2 HR, .389 SLG, .111 ISO
August 5, 2025 at 9:36 PM
The big surprise has been the power output from Culpepper, especially this year

- 54 A+ G: 9 HR, 9 2B, 2 3B, .186 ISO
- 30 AA G: 6 HR, 4 2B, 1 3B, .192 ISO
August 5, 2025 at 9:36 PM
His contact rates are still more good than great, but that’s largely due to an approach that could use some work

- 87.1% z-con% in A+
- 84.7% in AA

But he’s been chasing pitches out of the zone around ⅓ of the time this year while swinging at less than 50% of pitches overall

Culpepper was the first round pick of the Twins in 2024, 21st overall, and wasn’t met with a ton of fan fare because he was thought to be more safe than exciting but his breakout in 2025 is telling a different story

Should you add Josh Adamczewski?

I personally am lower on Adamczewski than the consensus at Prospects Live, probably because I don’t see much in the way of power or speed, but I do still think he’s worth a look in deeper leagues of around 350+ prospects rostered
July 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Adamczewski's defense isn't held in very high regard so he has a few things to work on - glove, contact skills, power output - if he is going to have a meaningful role with a big league club

He is in a well-trusted org to help with those developments, so don't count him out
July 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Prior to injury, Adamczewski had been lifting the ball much more as his ground ball rate had dropped from 51.8% last year to 35.8% in Single-A this year

He's totaled just 5 HR and 9 SB over 68 games in two years, showing little impact with his power or speed
July 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
To this point in his career, Adamczewski's best asset has been his approach which has led to solid walk rates and reasonable strikeout rates despite below average contact, as seen below
July 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Adamczewski was receiving some hype early in the year thanks to a mini power outburst but cooled off significantly before hitting the IL with a back injury. (He is currently rehabbing in complex ball)

First 9 games: 2 HR, 6 XBH, .325 ISO
Next 15 games: 0 HR, 4 XBH, .077 ISO
July 6, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Adamczewski was a 15th round pick by the Brewers in 2023, signing for just over $250k which shows how much the Brewers liked him. He’s posted strong numbers at every stop with the exception of his pro debut, but that was a mere 3 games sample
