I think people are wising up to this though. Too many games that clearly need millions asking for 40k on kick and then failing to deliver once a publisher never comes through.

So some devs are using kick as soft advertisements to attract publishers…
We used our kick money to buy all the art we needed and worked on the game in our free time (we all had day jobs). 50k can get ya a lot of pixel art but can’t pay our salaries ha

It’s like the local restaurant that serves Mexican food. Is it not Mexican food cause I live in Virginia? Or are these terms more descriptive than prescriptive? I think the former personally (especially indie/jrpg)

The whole what is or isn’t an “indie” debate makes me think of the “jrpg” debates. I know what you mean, but I think a lot of folks can only take terms literally and prescriptively

Tactics is great, but I didn’t include it in ranking. I like 9, but everytime I replay it I like it less. It falls a part in the last two discs pretty hard. 10 is cool, I just like others better

When I played ff7 back in the day, I didn’t have a memory card for months. I just replayed the Midgar section over and over. Luckily it’s one of the best paced and most electric set pieces of video game history

I liked 15 enough. But the story was a bit messy (at least at launch). Oh I forgot to rank 8. I guess I’d rank that second to last

I never beat 12. But I played it back in the day. Never played 13 or 16. Only played a bit of 1/2.
