Daniel from Dublin, and 4 others have been imprisoned for allegedly disrupting an Elbit Systems facility in Ulm, Germany last month. Elbit is an Israeli weapons manufacturer whose weapons are central to Israel’s genocide. Daniel is held 23 hours daily in their cell, including meals, no phone calls

Autumn seas in Achill

After I was done getting soaked from the thigh down and cover head to toe in mud while making this video about removing gunnera, a neighbour I hadn't met before stopped me on the road to say their son had sent her my tiktoks, I can only assume the mud gave me away 😂

finally finished a system agnostic version of one of my games, interested to hear how other people who use a lot of different systems day to day borrow from them into something new

I've noticed a really strange absence of frogs and frog spawn on Achill this spring. Thinking back I don't think I remember any last year either. Anyone know something I don't?

As a teenager and into my twenties I spent a lot of time in town alone and Pat Ingoldsby was such a fixture of my Saturdays. Conversations with him were never dull and Dublin is all the poorer without him.

It's very tenuously connected but this video of my frog residents is worth turning the audio on

Beach clean day. It's always a pain to disentangle this kind of rope and netting from the seaweed. I met a member of a local clean coasts group on the way home and that made it feel worth it.

Yep! That was a successful afternoon playing in muddy puddles *ahem* I mean engaging in restorative ecological praxis.

This #WorldWetlandsDay I'm celebrating by helping to encourage these seasonal pools where water drains from the field to the stream (translation: splashing around in the mud pulling gunnera roots out and deepening them) if I still have signal later expect pictures of the mess I make of myself.

Went out in the rain earlier determined to get rushes from my field for crosses. Celebrating lá féile Bríde slightly damp by the fire.

Before I go, please appreciate my mothers toasting fork for toasting bread through the stove glass, made from a wooden spoon, a fork and some painters tape

Cold enough in the house without power that my tea looks a lot more dramatic than usual. Hopefully the stove will take the edge off now I'm home.

Episode 10 on the budget and PfG is up now. I'm also starting in on research on the next episode on the national parks, and some of history of land management by the state in Ireland so any questions or thoughts welcome

We might not have a government but we do have a podcast by me talking about the budget and programme for government with an eye to environmental policies. I suffer through many reports so you don't have to

I have finally finished the script of episode 10 of From the Roots where I'm discussing the Programme for Government and the budget so here's a clip of me reading part of the section on emissions and the completely imaginary numbers it contained.
