I’ve joked with friends that EA only gave the team that made this game (The Lost Pixels, not PopCap) a budget of $300 and a half-eaten Subway gift card.

EA is not beating this allegation, I’m afraid.

Like, I’ve struggled to get back into the game after first launch. Either I’ll get left in a void with the custom cursor after the logos, or I’ll get stuck on the initial loading splash.

I’ve never had this problem on any other Unity title I’ve played, asset flips included.

I didn’t think the music thing would bother me as much as it does, but it’s actually quite annoying and cheapens the overall presentation.

The bigger problem is that the Steam release seems unstable?

… tells me there’s still a market for good casual games. A market PopCap had cornered 2 decades ago.

Basically, I’m asking for a collection of old PopCap games on Switch 2. If the PvZ remaster uses the same Game Framework that other PopCap titles use, then I feel a PopCap Deluxe Collection…

My feelings are mixed about it though. On the one hand, it’s nice to see a sign of life from PopCap. On the other, I’d like to see something from them on PC/Consoles that isn’t PvZ. The casual game market has been saturated with mobile slop for a long time now, but the success of Balatro…

At a glance, I can tell you it’s a port/remaster of the Xbox 360 release of PvZ. The modes they talked about line up with that version, plus those assets are already in HD. Not a bad version to port, especially since Switch 2 has mouse controls and Switch 1 can use USB.
