Yep, all sorts of Australian birds could be called after known European settlers who assume they are simply variants of the known, rather then wholly new species.

Sorry, it actually doesn't look like what Bush/Brush Turkeys wandering around here, which are much more turkey-like, with red wattles, so could what your other correspondent suggests. But such
common names are likely to be given to different species in different areas, so no big deal any way.

🇦🇺🥲 Mine's a Zenit with the Moscow Olympic logo on it, bought seconds as emergency replacement in Syria 1991. Poor old thing died with marks on inner lens around the time slide processing became a niche trade. Got a faithful little pocket Lumix now, great little soldier, but no SLR capacities.
