Met a guy at a techno gig in Krakow this summer. 20-year-old Belarussian, in self-exile cos he protested the govt while a student. V switched on dude, all about democracy and the Left.

And when I told him I lived in London he went grave and said, "oh wow I hear London is not so safe, very scary?".
I think this is very poorly misunderstood. The reason why the 'the UK, a dangerous crimehole' stuff matters is that people in other countries who might invest in the UK see it online and believe it, not because the electoral constituency for it is particularly large or significant.
When we look at satisfaction with policing (I know, not the same as perceptions of crime, but hopefully helpful proxy) and crime rates in Police Force Areas, there is a clear link (interactive maps here tinyurl.com/c56jbcwc). And our Issues Index has concern with crime relatively low. ...

I sometimes think London has to be a hellhole to people who don’t live in it so they can make themselves feel better about not living here

People have been trying to talk London down, but the evidence tells a different story.

Last year saw:

The lowest murder rate per capita since records began

The fewest murders of those aged under 25 this century

One of the lowest numbers of homicides for almost three decades

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

This is a whole sermon.

12 years ago I commented on an article about white pet owners lack of boundaries and humanity. I basically said they see more humanity in animals than humans, especially Black humans. Butt hurt white folks are STILL responding to my comment.

When I was little, everyone told me not to say my name and age on the internet. I lie about both to some extent to this day. I'm a person on the internet. The person behind the screen isn't here.
