SolarHam.com is a space weather website launched in 2006 dedicated to providing the latest information about the Sun, including sunspots, solar flares and coronal mass ejections.
A sizable eruption was just observed beyond the northeast limb beginning around 19:45 UTC (Nov 25). The associated CME will be directed away from Earth. Also note the large filament that is currently anchored in place in the NE quadrant.

A coronal mass ejection (CME) that includes a faint halo outline is emerging in updated imagery courtesy of GOES-19 CCOR-1. This appears to be related to farsided activity and is not Earth directed. SolarHam.com

A large prominence is currently located off the north pole region of the Sun and it may be getting ready to liftoff. From end to end it stretches more than 300,000 kilometers. Something to keep an eye on over the next few hours. Image by GOES SUVI.

The solar wind speed increased from 545 km/s to around 650 km/s. There was also a small increase in the strength of the Sun's magnetic field (Bt) and plasma density. This could be a CME glancing blow related to the X4 solar flare early Friday.

The latest event (X4.0 flare) has pushed proton levels streaming past Earth back above the minor (S1) radiation storm threshold. SolarHam.com

AR 4274 still has some gas left in the tank. An X4.0 solar flare was just detected at 08:30 UTC (Nov 14). This event is associated with a type II radio emission with an estimated velocity of 15:25 km/s. More to follow.
November 14, 2025 at 8:55 AM
CME associated with the X5.1 solar flare swept past Earth at 19:17 UTC (Nov 12). Solar wind speed appears to be above 800-900 km/s. A severe (G4) geomagnetic storm watch is now in effect. SolarHam.com
November 12, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Second incoming CME detected with a much stronger impact. Solar wind now above 700 km/s and Bz/IMF shifted sharply south (-55 nT). Geomagnetic storm warning now in effect.
November 12, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Severe (G4) geomagnetic storm watch is officially in effect beginning tomorrow November 12th. Fast moving CME from X5.1 flare predicted to pass Earth.
November 11, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Bright halo CME heading directly for Earth. Impact will be likely early on November 13th (UTC). Strong (G3) to Severe (G4) geomagnetic storm watch will likely be added. SolarHam.com
November 11, 2025 at 3:03 PM
X5.1 solar flare around AR 4274. Proton levels are already on the rise. Wide area of coronal dimming evident meaning a large Earth directed CME is likely. SolarHam.com
November 11, 2025 at 10:47 AM
Major solar flare in progress.
The latest event is now peaking around the X5 level and the source is AR 4274. More to follow.
November 11, 2025 at 10:10 AM
Moderate (G2) to Strong (G3) geomagnetic storm watch in effect for November 11-12. Full details on SolarHam.com
November 10, 2025 at 10:08 PM
AR 4274 is back at it again with an X1.2 solar flare currently in progress (11/10 @ 09:22 UTC) SolarHam.com
November 10, 2025 at 9:30 AM
AR 4274 just produced an X1.7 solar flare peaking at 07:35 UTC (Nov 9). An Earth directed CME will be likely. More to follow. SolarHam.com
November 9, 2025 at 7:58 AM
A coronal mass ejection (CME) just passed the ACE spacecraft and a passage past Earth is expected within the next half hour. The solar wind speed is currently near 800 km/s. More to follow.
November 7, 2025 at 5:17 AM
Bz currently pointing south. A moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch is now in effect until 09:00 UTC (Nov 6). SolarHam.com
November 5, 2025 at 10:39 PM
M8.6 solar flare produced by AR 4274 at 22:07 UTC (Nov 5). A northerly directed CME will likely be associated. Further updates regarding possible Earth directed component to follow. SolarHam.com
November 5, 2025 at 10:31 PM
Two X-Flares today so far. X1.8 around AR 4274 in the northeast quadrant and just now, an X1.1 from behind the southeast limb. SolarHam.com
November 4, 2025 at 10:21 PM
Another M-Flares produced by AR 4274, this time an M3.5 at 01:49 UTC (Nov 4). SolarHam.com
November 4, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Long duration M5.0 solar flare in progress around AR 4272 and company. This appears to be eruptive and will likely produce a coronal mass ejection (CME). Stay tuned for details.
November 3, 2025 at 10:23 AM
A moderate (G2) geomagnetic storm watch is in effect until 15:00 UTC (Oct 30). This is due to the ongoing effects of a coronal hole stream currently moving past Earth. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) has been pointing sharply south the past few hours.
