Back from my annual summer dev hiatus! Eager to finish something by the end of the year, so putting my previous project on hold and starting something smaller. Just came up with the idea a minute ago so bear with me while I sort it out in my brain!

No, this isn't a battle system for Mermaid Stories (although maybe I should add one for a future story?) Started working on a new #playdate project, just borrowing some assets as placeholders.

After watching my daughter's first playthrough, I've spent the last few weeks reworking the quest and adding an objective system. I'm happy with the results!

Having played Be Kind to Yourself and Mars after Midnight they are both worthy nominees! Now I have to play Echo and Spilled Mushrooms.
Here's a first look at the micro-adventure game that I've been working on for the #playdate! It's a mermaid-themed story designed for young readers (although playable for all ages!) This was the first game idea my daughter asked me to make a year back, so I'm following up on that promise 🙂

#playdate game recommendation time!
Just finished Resonant Tale and what an absolutely wonderful game it was! The puzzles and level design were such high quality and I loved the delightful dialog and little touches. As a Zelda fan I was extremely satisfied. Get it!

Happy new year! I've been heads down on a micro Playdate adventure game for my daughter before I start my next big project. Gameplay is mostly done, now working on replacing placeholder graphics and content. Hopeful to post some screenshots soon!

This is the first and probably last screenshot of a Playdate puzzle game prototype I was working on. I couldn't quite get it to a place where it was fun so I've decided to move on. But that's ok, it's what prototypes are for! On to the next project 🙂
