At the #DBG members' meeting on Tuesday afternoon, the SoilMates and Colluvium teams received the Soil Contest Award 🏆 as they shared the first place.
Christian Ahl and Heiner Flessa were awarded honorary #DBG membership. 📜

On Wednesday evening, a cultural highlight took place at #DBG2025 when artist Elke Lehmann opened her exhibition, "#lumbriwurm," showcasing the earthworm as an artistic motif.

Very interesting discussions about soils again this evening during the second poster session. The winners of the Best Award Poster #DBG2025 in five other commissions received books on soils in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

After a very productive second day of scientific talks and a festive event, the #DBG2025 attendees gathered at the NECKAWA restaurant on the Neckar river to continue their scientific discussions and celebrate the #DBG Medals and Awards🏆, and ... to experience the traditional Tübingen ‘Stocherkahn’.

During the festive #DBG2025 event, we had also two invited talks. Johannes Lehmann from Cornell University in the US spoke about #soils and climate change mitigation. Michaela Dippold and Kira Rehfeld presented the new #TERRA excellence cluster at the University of Tübingen, which focuses on #soil.

Georg Guggenberger (2025) and Kai Uwe Totsche (2024) were awarded the Emil-Ramann Medal by the #DBG for their outstanding achievements in soil science.

The Scheffer Award by #DFG was presented to two young scientists, Katrin Schieldung and Katharina R. Lenhardt, in recognition of their exceptional work in soil science and their outstanding doctoral theses 2023 and 2024.
