and i didn't even get into the "too much bourbon on the bourbon glazed ham at too high a temp" that exploded and burned off her eyebrows and bangs because that didn't happen on thanksgiving.

my brother and i flat out refused to eat it. my dad took a bite and was like no thanks.
my best friend, meanwhile, looked at me, with real fear, like "wtf is this? do i have to try it if you won't? i have serious regrets about coming here."
and that's why we still talk about the pumpkin soup.

my best friend who couldn't fly home had come home with me for thanksgiving. due to issues with actually making the soup - mixer fail, maybe? i can't remember - and then the timing of trying to keep soup warm in an actual pumpkin, the result was a stringy, seedy goddawful mess of cold, pumpkin soup.

it looked awful, and my brother and i watched my dad try it and almost gag. my mom took a bite, jumped up and ran into the kitchen and threw it up.

when my parents were first married she called her mom for her turkey recipe. the recipe was for a turkey twice the size of what she had. she somehow managed to cram 2X the stuffing in, and so it exploded.

the cable between the router and the modem is the problem. modem comes in upstairs, router is in the basement.
