Randomly remembered this great historical plaque I found a couple months ago 🐐
Delighted much more by the boy's exquisite taste in transportation than the redlining tbh
Plaque from the site of the old downtown Boise Depot in Idaho with an old black and white image of a young boy in a cart being drawn by a goat. Educational text on the left side reads "From the 1890s to the 1970s, railway tracks cut off the River Street Neighborhood from the city beyond. Zoning permitted greater noise and waste allowances. The ethnically diverse neighborhood became home to Boise's working poor. Due to a discriminatory practice known as 'redlining', River Street was one of the few areas of town where African American families could buy a house."
