Smilodon fatalis, state fossil of California

An image of the California flag, but instead of a brow bear on green grass, it is a brown saber tooth cat (Smilodon fatalis) on the same grass. Like a normal California flag, the background is white with a red bar on the very bottom of the flag. i think its a good reminder to folks in our science nerd circles that the difference between genus and species is not common knowledge! this is something i had to explain to my biochemist mom.

what is a triceratops? 3/3
