looking at the forge events, it seems like 'PlayerInteractEvent.EntityInteract' should work

that should give your item priority so it gets used if you return pass i think

i think you could maybe add a mixin to the livingentity class that happens at the start of mobInteract that cancels it if the player is using your item?
