Re-watched Hackers and somehow I had totally forgotten all the references to the Morris Worm. "A wake-up call to the Nintendo generation" perhaps not so much, but I still love the idea that cyberpunks would absolutely use pagers.

Super interesting article about why Perl is not more popular. The cultural thoughts are well observed but IMO Perl's post-modern philosophy of language creation meant that it never could build a centre capable of holding.

This morning my ChatGPT quota was inexplicably exhausted.
It took a while but I pieced it together. Voice mode somehow got activated when I went to bed.
The bot then engaged in a 10 hour conversation with my snoring dog, answering questions the pup wasn’t asking and praising him for his insight.
