Counterpoint— Muppet Christmas Carol has Michael Caine playing an entirely serious, almost Shakespearean Scrooge in a sequence where he witnesses the aftermath of the death of Kermit’s sickly child and it’s one of the BEST Muppet movies.

The inverse of this was also true, you could install PC games and put an audio CD in the drive and it would play the tracks on that CD as if it was the soundtrack. We did that with Quake all the time lol

And unlike the dot com bubble there isn’t an underlying paradigm shifting technology— just some tools that have useful edge case uses. But hopefully the bubble bursting ironically leads to more jobs lol
