Archives have already seen the results of this. Inquiries from historians and researches with fake sources and box/folder numbers. That they admit they got from asking ChatGPT and the like. It's embarrassing to witness.

Archives have been getting inquiries from historians for the past year or so with made-up source material with fake box and folder numbers. They're admitting they got the info from ChatGPT. It's very clear that profession is in trouble if they can't even be trusted to do archival research anymore.
