One part British, one part Spanish, with a hint of Belgian. Amateur dad and amateur writer, author of Dolores and Other Sorrows (finalist for the Eyelands Awards). Posting about literature, music, art and, somewhat reluctantly, politics.
Just finished Norwegian Wood, by Murakami. What an amazing book! It's like a road trip through the early years of adulthood, a bit like The Catcher in the Rye but with miso soup instead of burgers. 10/10

Writers of Bluesky: I'm sure there's a good story to be written from this picture. 😉 #booksky

Spending time in one of the coolest places on Earth: a church that has been converted into a bookstore. Perfect! It's in Maastricht, in the Netherlands #booksky

One of the coolest things about #Brussels is that you meet people and find activities from all over the world. These are my bigos and beer during Polish Day. Yummy!

I celebrated #indiebookstores Day with a visit to one of my favourite spots in Brussels: Librebook, of course! Look at all that book-shaped happiness!

In #Brussels, trees eat metal signs. Could they possibly be ents from the Lord of the Rings? #nature #LOTR

Just finished this book that is wonderful in its weirdness. It'll have you thinking 'this is beautiful, but what's going on?' until the end, when you realise it's even better than you thought. Besides, I got to meet the author the other day and I had a bit of a fanboy moment. #booksky

I'll never get tired of the comment my great friend Greta Voitel made about #doloresandothersorrows: 'Often, Denis speaks so softly that you have to put your ear down close to the page to hear what he is saying. Then the bastard turns the volume up!' #booksky #writing #librebook

Wonderful presentation by Olga Tokarczuk yesterday, about the importance of literature as the way to not just convey information, but also to transmit a message that resonates. I wish my granny had been this cool!

I couldn't help myself and i made one too! It doesn't look as pretty as yours, though. My supposedly non-stick pans refuse to do the one thing they're meant to do. 🙄 #spanishomelette

In this time of nazis, I keep thinking about a little story by Olga Tokarczuk called 'Swastikas' and I always giggle:
