Today we went for a walk on Rosemarkie beach. The whole place was shrouded in mist, which was quite beautiful. As it began to clear, I saw something I had never seen or heard of before - a fog bow, also known as a white rainbow.

Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) from ‘Silo’.

Visiting Shin Falls ‘out of season’ meant no cafe (or toilets!) but we had the woodland walk to ourselves and that was glorious.

We also got lost on the way and ended up at an eerie loch in the middle of nowhere… (Loch Buidhe). Wish I’d taken a picture but we were busy trying to find our way back!

This book of gnomes by Mufficorn is wonderful. I’ve made 3 gifts from it so far. They take a little while but are not too complicated and the results are charming. You can also find @muffi_corn on IG - look them up for many more examples!

Another recent addition to my ever growing amigurumi book collection is this one - Amigurumi Friends by Jade Gauthier-Boutin. The different bodies and other elements on offer mean that you can mix and match your characters. Fun and very well-explained, with links to tutorials for some tricky things.

More Wheel of Time art. An unexpected favourite in season 1 was Ila (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and this is probably still the most fun I have ever had drawing patterned fabric. At the time, this picture felt like a real step forward from my previous art and I’m very fond of it.

I really loved Barney as Mat in S1 of The Wheel of Time but I was also excited to see how Dónal Finn would handle the role. I drew this before the second season started, in anticipation. Needless to say, he nailed it. He is now Mat in my head when I read the books.

I bought new tree lights today as the old ones were cold white and I wanted something more cosy. Found this lone set on sale at the supermarket and took a gamble. The result - even my wall is glowing! I’m so happy.
