As always, civil-military relations/civilian control of the military is a relationship. It requires trust and restraint by both sides. In this case, the civilians are not obeying the norms, dragging the military into dangerous waters.

So, maybe another day to post this? Not yet.

First snow was not as much as predicted, but glad i don't have to be in the road until mid afternoon. Canadians always forget how to drive, walk, ride on the snow. Takes them a first snow to remember

Ah, this reminds me of teaching Clash of Civilizations. GIven that Huntington's concept of clvilization was largley based on religion, how was South America a different civilization? European Catholics are part of the west but not South American ones? Brown Catholics don't count. So much racism
