I am interested in international relations, images of adorable animals I'm allergic to, excessively mainstream science fiction and fantasy, legal reform, and so many more things than will fit within the character limit I've been provided here.
I really don't think this will do that, except perhaps via inadequate chewing. I mean, the only other thing is potential issues with the eggs, but as of now they've *definitely* been thoroughly cooked.

My stepmom's doing a pecan pie experiment with near-maximum pecans and near-minimum custard and if nothing else, it looks and smells *amazing*.

The joys of modern living, with siblings and their SOs all over the country and me panicking about insanely and suddenly introduced tariffs and other "we are governed by a demented ghoul of a man" worries AND ALSO societal norms.

See how clean the break is? It's amazingly effective even when I accidentally make the halves somewhat closer to ⅓ and ⅔. 🤦

Took a bit to get around to it this year; thank you for organizing all this!

I haven't seen a contested school board race in the five years I've lived in my current apartment - in fact, I got an undervote warning on my ballot on Tuesday, because not enough people filed petitions to run for the job.

(Two undervote warnings total, plus this... thing.)

Like, she's within a completely separate information ecosystem from the one I, a person who lives in Ohio and doesn't have conversations with anybody in her congregation, exist in.

(There are a LOT of replies I might have made to this one. However, I have an ironclad policy of non-engagement!)

As in, I'm not surprised I was outnumbered by poll workers by a margin of 4:1 today. Still have to look up what they do when this happens.

Civic duty: performed!

Almost everyone I know personally has at least one really important thing on their ballot this time, except for me and my fellow Ohio residents. The only things on mine are the county educational service center board, the local (miniature) school board, and this *beauty* of a town council race.

That'd take like a million jerseys, even if you ignored all the gargoyles. Seems like every Catholic church has a whole collection.

Though in fairness, some of the jerseys would need to be infant- or American Girl doll-size. We'll excuse the tiny nativity figures, plus this guy, for practicality.

Part of me can't help but think modern medicine is just so incredibly cool, even when my test results are, you know, bad. Behold: an analysis delivered 25 hours after I swallowed the radioactive Ensure!

Anyway this one is NOT all in my head, woot.

It's why I did my protest sign lettering by hand (well, that plus a failure to work out my spacing with the stencils ahead of time, sigh). Why I picked the patriotic colors and assigned gold to "patriots" and black to "fascism". The complete and total absence of subtlety is itself a message.
October 29, 2025 at 1:24 AM
And, the first slogan is done! I have learned several things for the next time I make signs, including "don't start at 7pm the evening before" and "spring for the ghostline posterboard".

The funhouse mirror effect on the letters is absolutely *not* intentional.

Here's the second one; I'll put the first one up as soon as it's finished.

I might try taking a white paint marker to the insides of certain letters, if there's time. No idea if it'll work.

Thank you! I was trying to figure out where I've seen that shape on a flat object without success!

There were also a bunch of artists who very prominently did not participate in the boycott. That's why the song "Sun City" exists - they're calling out Frank Sinatra and Queen and Cher and the Beach Boys.

I loved guests like you. If I could have just *sold* pins the way CMs sell art at the gallery or the way I sold ornaments at the weird Radko shop, it'd have been fine. I even managed to pretend to be into Radko, which was not easy. It's just the trading I can't handle.

Like, they were just labeling enemies of the state, broadly construed by paranoid bastards, differently back then. Being anti-fascist is rarely a safe position anywhere, at least when it comes to domestic politics.

(You can usually be as anti-fascist as you want when it's a declared enemy.)

Nuremberg happened in the context of massive destruction followed by unconditional surrender (and Hitler's suicide). Like, I don't think you can do this to MAGA, and comprehensive defeat's mandatory if you want to have even a quasi-legitimate Nuremberg that doesn't just set off another war.
September 18, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Sent them a note about their previous position on fascism (the position they are very proud of taking, not the positions they'd really rather we all forget) and how someone at that company needs to open a history book. At least it'll end up in a metric.

I figure if you're in 1939 and the Nazis are literally filling Madison Square Garden with open admirers and folks *still* need to be told that the brownshirts are trying to goad you into street violence so hey let's not give them what they want while every camera in the city is looking at us...
September 17, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Well, this is disappointing, though I can't say I'm completely surprised by anything other than that they're somehow number 1.
September 13, 2025 at 12:02 AM
I thought I was doing pretty well on this but I didn't think I had full compliance. On the other hand this is definitely not looking through every single post, because I have definitely posted a lot more than 556 times. That feels like the last 90 days or something.

They had to try a couple of different vomiting drugs on me to find one that, itself, didn't produce vomiting, and as a result I think I just got the best sleep physically possible in a hospital setting, medically induced comas *not* excluded, yay first-hand experience.
