Likely after a storm. I had them in my yard recently (Brisbane) after storms. Might have been flushed along a gutter or a drain. They might be lost but they'll move on when they are ready.

Ahhh yeah it'll be the dog it's afraid of.
As their name implies they are swimmers not climbers so when they go up it's because they have nowhere to swim to escape.

I don't know how "indie" it is, but Fate broke my brain and saved me from trad TTRPGs.
The engagement of myself and players and the creativity and storytelling it spawned was such a refreshing change.

I'm glad I have v2 but sad to see such a great tool destroyed in such a horrible and greedy way if they do move it to a subscription in future.
People are fleeing Adobe to affinity BECAUSE it's a purchase. I hope they realise that.

So true. If only we could find a consistent way to manage venue and attendance too, as that seems to still fall to the GM even today ;)

I'm fairly sure a lot of people are moving there specifically to avoid apocalypses. Seems like a pretty good corner of the world to be come rapture time.
