Intending to buy alcohol by the can or bottle while in Sweden? Any drink with more than 3.5% alcohol by volume can only be bought in Systembolaget, although grocery stores will sell lower-percentage drinks. There's a Systembolaget in Sickla near the Willys.

When planning your travels to, from, and around SMOFcon 42 in Stockholm (5-7 December 2025), we recommend that you primarily plan on travelling to Sickla (Nacka) via Gullmarsplan and taking the tram from there.

If you were at this year's Eastercon, Reconnect in Belfast, you may have spotted our lovely bookmarks around the convention. Several of our committee meetings were in attendance as well.

The SMOFcon 42 committee met last week to discuss programme ideas and what rooms we'll use on which days, amongst other things. Of course there was fika!
Fika is the Swedish equivalent of a coffee break, an extended moment's social and rest, usually with coffee and cake.

A year-round favourite is the Vasa Museum. The Vasa ship sank on its maiden voyage in the Stockholm Archipelago, which is why this seventeenth-century ship has been so beautifully preserved.
