Country punk. Music, motorsports, logic, and sarcasm. Retired bottom division hockey player.

I've somehow only held jobs no one knows exist.
That one might be one of the dumbest traffic designs in the metro area and we have plenty of options for that category.

I just moved after living on 52nd a block from the Monon for 5 years, and it will always make me laugh that 90+% of southbound traffic turns around there no matter the time of day. "No way I'm crossing from one suburban neighborhood to another!"

Because it photographs better or because he's OG?

He owns Dyrana Hybrid outside Cincinnati, which appears to do quite well.

I think the challenge is to stay above water on cash flows on everything with capital intensive facilities. What happens when the revenues don't increase/costs slash or the facilities investments cost more than planned?

Most of those leagues under the IHRA now had an existing participant base and the vibes I got were the IHRA was on shakey financial ground before the sale to Cullen. So no real changes to powerboat/pulling and shoring up drag racing. Plus I think enough hobby racers open to NHRA alternatives.

But look at Memphis Motorsports Park on google earth. Even if the track surfaces are in good shape, none of the buildings are. Atlanta Dragway has no grandstands. That's a lot of money to drop at once to me.

I'm less concerned about attendance/participation in these acquisitions in year one. Only the stock car league is a startup and it sounds like drag racing is prob more financially stable with him for the short term at least which would draw more participants.

He's making it rain in the niche motorsports world, of course people were flocking to him with pitches.

His facility costs alone will be in the tens of millions to do the things they've scheduled.

Also, don't forget you're working in world that is time and detail sensitive and I don't think most people experience that in their professional lives really. Lots of things can be punted a few or be "close enough" but live events can't and you have to be ready. You also have to adjust to that.

What Daniel said is right. Entry level work is still a training ground. People are looking for progress and the ability to learn. I don't want to teach you twice, but teaching isn't saying it once and expecting perfection. Repetition is important, especially on detailed/complex tasks.

I was dying at the stage manager/official directing him over to hug Sulayem on the podium grid like he was about to skip weigh in. 😂

Future barley pops! How'd the brew go?
December 7, 2025 at 12:05 AM
That's awesome! How many days are you going to be on the road this year you think?

So is racing tech school like music school where the most talented fail to graduate because they got poached for a paycheck or do you do both?

"Watch me give Ty Dillon talent."

Why sell a $55k car when you can sell a $550k car.

If you're near the NE side of Indy I have a bucket of Star San you're welcome to steal.

Now music memorabilia, who boy that's a rabbit hole.

1) My first 500 was 1992 and what more random to have signed than a 20 year old IRL engine piston?

2) Snuck into VL for the celebration post-race after finally watching Will win the title in person.

3) Grandparents owned USAC midgets. Not sure if this was Larry Rice or one of their later drivers.
