I also hate this practice.
You should only be allowed to qualify for the country you register under and live in for RTNs.
Let folks from each country actually represent their country.

Point 2 is the big issue. You see that happen a lot. People with 4 of so of them in the same area just mas conceding to each other to try and get buddies in.

I get selling prizing is a big way to help fund travel for the game and such and Im all for it, but it kinda breaks my nerd heart to see people really want something for the love of the game and feel like they can't get it unless they just keep paying the same folks for it.

It kinda got bad to see people get really excited about a promo and want it for their collection only to bubble out and have the same handful keep winning them and not want them and only wanted to sell it.

This is the biggest issue I have is it is preventing people from playing with friends. Like we had somebody win week 1 then just go to the rest and hang.
I don't know what the solution is for that aspect, but the idea that more people can win prizes and attend these events is good to me.

By doing this we saw a lot more people attend because they felt they had. A chance and it wouldnt be the same handful of folks just conceeding and splitting the prizing between them and their buddies.
So ultimately I've come around on this policy

Initially I was not a fan of "if you won't you can't play again" mentality, but last season at PQs I actually saw a lot more people show up than before. Folks (at least locally) started to avoid these events as they were tired of seeing the top 2 or 3 locals win them all and just burn invites

Do what I did with my commoner league. Bring 3 decks your opponent bans one of yours and you ban one of theirs. To win the round. You have to win with each of your two remaining decks.
