Quick update on where I'm at with github.com/sminez/penrosx

The ffi layer has been torn apart and rewritten compared to what I had back in April and I've got scratchpads working now after wiring in the ability to query properties from windows.

Still got several bugs to sort but it's looking good!

Playing around a bit with the lighting still. It's getting there but I'm still not fully happy with it for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.

OK, this is a lot more the vibe I'm aiming for: ominous forest where you can partially see through the trees surrounding you. Being able to see somewhere you can't quite get to is surprisingly fun to mess around with.

I've been having a lot of fun over the last couple of weeks building a roguelike from scratch. There's not much "game" there yet but I've got some nice map generation working, dynamic lighting, FOV and simple pathing working.

OK, first pass at a tiling window manager for OSX is a thing 🎉

This is me updating Penrose to remove the X11-isms and then implementing a backend for OSX that lets you drop in pretty much all of the existing functionality.

So this morning I'm trying to implement LSP support for ad with the "help" of my little assistant here 🐶

Not sure "because a small dog might be trying to sleep on your forearm" was the main motivator for avoiding using a mouse when designing modal editing but here we are.
