i went to a protest a few weeks ago and a lot of the narrative around government healthcare bans was like "trust parents and doctors" and i've been annoyed ever since. i know that this narrative plays nice with cis people but trust yourself, no one has the right to interfere with your body

does everyone get a jesus this holiday season or is this more of a personalized thing here

therapy is so sad because ive gotten incredibly lucky and find it so helpful but i cant blame the people who don't like it at all and have only run into mediocre therapists. its such a unique kind of thing that everyone needs in such personal ways. and also a bunch of therapists suck

cis therapist with trans family member they deeply love is kind of a rare blessing. mine sometimes gets more mad about things ive just Gotten Used To being stressed about than i am

it's even cooler when the phone gives u body image issues by automatically getting rid of the blemishes on ur face. thanks phone i definitely like not being allowed to have a grounded look at what my body looks like without alteration

this isnt good (especially when the ai is actively editing details on the image) but it does seem a natural progression when you consider that phone oses have been making it straight up impossible to turn off post processing for a while now
December 15, 2025 at 12:23 PM
post processing has been getting increasingly common to deal with color/lighting issues that are otherwise unavoidable. you can see the lighting looks more "natural" and less washed out in the ai one compared to the bloom caused by the sky in the original

it's not exactly common. you'll see it in specialty ice cream places with a million kinds but not like, at the store, I'd say. like i'm familiar with it, but i haven't seen it in years (and the last time was in the maritimes so wikipedia is probably correct about it being eastern)

i dont think there's any time period or place that's particularly pleasant lol. dressing with entirely bespoke clothing because every time in human history kinda sucks in some way or another

that's part of the problem with bigotry, fascism, threat. it interferes our ability to continue our own natural "character arcs" bc we're instead forced to focus on this other, outside crap. it stymies our growth and exhausts our potential. it's not impossible to work around, but it's *tiring*

I don't think there are any to be honest, I just know the way mainstream horror treats minorities generally and trans women in specific, and i'm good at pattern recognition lmao

thank you for writing it!! you're an incredibly talented artist and I had a great time reading

as a final note though, regarding the reveal line. sky watches horror movies. she would know.

the trans girl not making it past the first 30 minutes of the movie. she's absolutely dying first. 0 doubt in my mind.

sky is also coded as trans in a distinct but rare visual language which is actually very pleasant to see. once you know it's like, yeah, the flat chested girl who's very tall and likes wearing high waisted pants is trans. that tracks. but she's never depicted as masculine! you love to see it.
December 8, 2025 at 11:30 AM
this doesn't really jive with a lot of our present experiences but i do think it's nice to have a character who is allowed to both be coded as and canonically trans, who has more important problems in the story right now! it's rare, but it's enjoyable. she was my favorite character, coincidentally

sky as a trans girl presents a kind of idealistic alternative reality. she managed to figure it out at a very young age with a very accepting family. this is not common but not impossible. as a result, she just gets to live a normal life as a girl, and her other problems are way more important.
