After this turn we called it. I’m ahead quite a few points and the Allies will have to take Saarbrucken within 2 turns to have a chance at a marginal win or draw and lose no other steps. Tough.

Its popularity in the hobby also created a much bigger market. It’s much more than just a popular gateway game. It’s similar to Magic which kept hobby stores afloat in the early 90s.

Catan is more important to the industry than folks think. Often I hear hobby players today diss it…but if no Catan there is probably way fewer board games around for the next cool thing to be their favorite.
