Talking about watching star trek as a kid reminded me of how I used to argue with the boy who was raping me about whether Kirk’s shirt was green or yellow. And it struck me that I’d argue with him over that, but was quiet and compliant when he raped me and called me “disney princess.” Matt (an alter of mine) was really mad at Marcus (another alter) for that, Matt couldn’t accept that it was all of us who were paralyzed, he had to perceive it as Marcus being ok with it thats why Matt was homophobic for so long. We’ve consolidated a lot of those memories now, we’re a team. But the feeling still comes back sometimes, the shame and embarrassment and just WTF was wrong with me that I’d just . . . be there. Weill if I think I about it I know why, I just slipped back into when I was in bed with my parents when I was much younger. The programming was already there dormant he just happened to key in to how to turn it back on. I shouldn’t be mad at myself and I dont know if mad is the right word
