All this is to say I'm enjoying the Ghost Game dub. I dropped out when it was airing originally so it's cute getting to catch up on it, and the show's more casual nature lends itself to being able to watch it in one's first language.

It's also funny that this is the first time the Digimon anime has had this, because the character names in Ghost Game are almost intentionally really long. Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai is a mouthful regardless of who's talking.

Yes it's still sealed, I have Master of Puppets on CD, I just haven't spun up the vinyl yet

So. Turns out this thing expects you to have a sizeable table or floor space and really good lighting because the camera is awful, but once you get past calibration it's pretty fun actually. My sucky Japanese is being put to the test, that's for sure, lol

I know it says "for fun" but I would bet money it'll be used as an audience testing metric and I can and will vote for multiple options.

Mega Pokémon are teambuilding kneecap and a balancing crime. They funnel the player into about 30-odd specific monsters which makes online play criminally boring, on top of being mostly horribly designed and tacky, with specific Pokémon getting obnoxious special treatment. Mega Evolution suuuuuucks.

Okay I saw someone call this Hatsune Miku which is pretty funny and helps me hate it less, but I still don't like it. It's still ugly. This design is bad.

The dub is pretty solid! Hiro sounds like Ash Ketchum which is a little weird, but I don't dislike his voice, it's a decent performance. I mostly forgot how cheap the animation felt in Ghost Game, but that's not a dub-specific critique so much as it's just an issue with the show.

It feels like every episode I feel Tomoro's specific brand of exhaustion on an even more spiritual level than the last, and at all of the same shit, too. Kind of obsessed.
