Russian oil is heavily discounted because of sanctions. Taking out illegal tankers shipping oil makes it more problematic for Putin. You can't buy super tankers on eBay.

Other than that there is this avenue. If you are experiencing severe financial hardship, you can also ask your local council for a discretionary reduction under section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

It seems pretty fast policy to stop CTR to those already eligible. Morally you might want to have a chat with the council monitoring officer to check. If some is on UC/benefits suddenly expecting them to find the cash is pretty stupid or a way to get cash from the government via benefits. Sneaky.

This is true. US economic data used to be metronome for the G7.
Without it, there is less incentive to invest in America at any level.
I can't stress how bad a decision this is by the Trump administration. The loss of trust from governments down to citizens and everything in-between.

My strategy is for the BBC to fight all the way. Trump has more problems coming his way. His health and age are not going to work for him. I am not sure his estate is going to be up for continuing legal action should he pop his cloggs.
