Books. I really need to get back to this, it's been a long time and I've gotten rusty. Also if your local community college has "extended learning" or "community education" courses I found that to be a great way to learn when I started, it was nice to have people to talk to in the language.

He has been for a while! Go take a look (and buy) his other prints too, they're great art and high quality prints. I got this one a few years ago and it proudly hangs in my living room

Okay but that second one you should maybe consider? I started doing Iaido about 7 years ago and have found it to be a wonderful benefit to my physical & mental health. It's also solo practice, which helps my anxiety of not really liking being touched (the sword isn't sharp tho, I like my fingers)

I have been a traditional robe (no snuggies or whatever) wearer for many years now and I fully endorse this lifestyle. They're quite nice. They also free the blanket up for across the lap, assuming you still even need it.
