It’s hard to say because Sans just sorta cheats in his fight against you by doing things like getting rid of your invincibility frames and attacking you in the menu, but each hit you take from him still deals 1 HP of damage

I think people just got the 1 HP thing being from him having 1 ATK and 1 DEF, and him dying in one hit. His HP is never actually canonically stated.

I don’t think Sans ever says he has 1 HP? His stats when you Check him are just 1 ATK and 1 DEF. In the actual game code though, he does only have 1 HP.
