I do game VFX and a smidge of tech art as a treat. Occasionally I draw. Mostly I just post pigeon.
When she molts real bad she looks so mangy and feral. You’d never suspect she has a dedicated pillow that takes up 1/3rd of my desk, or gets the heater turned on any time she asks.

She’s just a girl and really bad at bathing herself. Outright refuses if I don’t help, the water’s too cold, or I try to bathe her in anything other than her emotional support pie dish

Is it cold enough to warrant the space heater? No, but the chicken gets cold after bath time and will go three weeks without bathing if I let that happen.

Meg has decided she will sit on the one thing on the ground, much like when you make a square of tape on the ground and a cat sits in it. Here she is completely blobbed onto a sock. Will you ever be as comfy as a pigeon on a sock on the floor?

Doing some simple FX to get familiar with how Godot does things. Much more manual setup for everything, finding myself writing basic scripts to handle some movement. The anim players make it super easy to drive once I have usable parameters though.

Photo from last night where she’s furious at me for “tricking” her into bathing. How? I splashed around in her bath tub until she thought it looked like fun and did a bath. This girl hates being soggy

This was a two part assignment. On a technical level this is essentially a palette / texture swap. I do use a similar but slightly different main sim, but was pleased as punch to see how different I could get the two feeling while changing as little as possible.

The second and last project for the @vfxapprentice.bsky.social boot camp I was a part of! This one utilizes a collection of fluid, smoke, and rbd sims to create a fun little splash. Was a PAIN getting the dynamic remesh working in UE but absolutely worth it.

Finally finished this project as part of the @vfxapprentice.bsky.social bootcamp, and I'm pleased as punch with the results! Put together using UE5, featuring sims from Embergen and Houdini.
