Ngl Hanging with Ashely #2 really got me thinking a lot and really encouraged me to keep asking questions and to keep staying curious, especially when engaging with media. When I opened my phone to go on Instagram I kinda had a lot of thoughts rushing to my head about evironments #hwa2

Melvil and John. Melvil made the Dewey Decimal System, which breaks knowledge into boxes and shows how biased and fragmented info can be. John Dewey was more about people though. Their "hidden costs" show us how splitting everything up starts to mess with how we see everyday life #hwa2 #doubledewey

Yes this totally 100% resonates with me!! I try so hard not to get trapped on Insta but every time I go on there just to check a stupid DM my friend sent me, I get distracted and find myself scrolling for hours trapped in the algorithm's grip and forget what I was doing #hwa2 #mediafunhouse

I think my phone is one medium in my life that just kind of dissapears. That's why putting it in my boot last week really got me to start thinking and acknowledging it. I think forcing myself to detox from it would rly expose its effects on me #hwa2 #buildthenotice

He wants us to be more aware of the environment we find ourselves in when engaging with media and wants us to be more aware of how that impacts us. Don't just analyze the contents in books or tv, look at how they as mediums influence us. #hwa2 #ideologyinmotion

Ik I reacted to this but I think the idea that media are environments and eventually come ideology rly got me thinking. This calls for us to pay attention to the mediums themselves and how they affect and influence us. I definitely agree with this and will now be more aware #hwa2 #nervoussystemping

I am trying my best to understand what "media are the most powerful when they become invisible" even means. Could this refer to a phone or a newspaper where we access information and don't even think twice about the source? I am confused!! 🤔 #hwa2 #invisible
