This bad boy is a southern lapwing, also Uruguay’s national bird. This one spent a bunch of time yelling at everything within his field of vision, accompanied by his clearly embarrassed mate. He let me take pictures as long as I didn’t try to get closer, eventually left to chase a vulture.

Seeing a lot of clay-colored thrushes, or as I’ve been thinking of them, “not-catbirds”. Both are considered mimic thrushes.

I don’t know what the heck this is, but I kept my distance. This plant either plans to spray mind control venom at my face-holes, or attempt mating.
