No, from a UK perspective at the very least there are some things that mainstream parties agree upon. The NHS, climate change, the state pension. Democrats and Republicans are nowhere near each other.

This is wrong. The UK has 5.6 weeks (28 days) of statutory holidays. This typically consists of four weeks of annual leave and 8 public holidays.
