Visited All Things Thrift & Furniture at 7821 Lorain Ave. Bonnie Sliva, a longtime pastor, and her volunteers provide a welcoming thrift shop, help clean the neighborhood, and serve free breakfast on select Saturdays. Her dedication to families and the community is inspiring.

Great meeting Anna Buchholz, a vintage cookbook collector & creator of Cooking the Books. She visited Cleveland Public Library to explore our historic collection and connect with the voices & kitchens of the past. Wishing everyone a Thanksgiving filled with food, family, and CLE traditions.

Great seeing Mark “Munch” Bishop, the Cleveland kid who became a local media staple. Caught him at St. Augustine Hunger Center w/ pals helping prep 12,000 Thanksgiving meals. Munch has done this work since 1990 & never stopped giving back. Grateful for him and all the volunteers.

Stopped by Recreational Pots and Plants at 4736 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland’s Ohio City. Lori McCormick’s shop is full of beautiful houseplants, tropicals, and handmade pottery. Her store is more than a shop, it’s a welcoming community with events like Sip and Paint nights.

Met longtime & excellent customer service rep at Dodd Camera, Eric Wethington, at the Cleveland store on East 30th Street. He started with Dodd in 1993 after being a regular customer and is a photographer himself. He also runs the YouTube channel One Body, One Lens, One Roll.

Met Javon Parks, originally from East Cleveland & Dell Horne at the Browns Muni Lot. The two friends now live in Columbus but are season ticket holders and travel back for every game. Thanks to them for talking Browns, tough seasons, & Muni Lot history on a crisp Sunday morning.

Stopped by Parallel Universe Books at 1436 W. 28th St. in Cleveland. Met owner Anthony Craig Senatore, who opened the sci-fi & fantasy shop on Oct. 4, 2025. A Steubenville native, he now lives in West Park with his family & turned his love of sci-fi into something special.

Tom McIntyre, originally from Bay Village and now in Rocky River, runs Kate’s Fish at Cleveland’s West Side Market. The stall, opened by his mother Kate in 2001, has been serving the city ever since. He continues the family legacy with fresh seafood and an amazing dedicated team.
