The fancy foundational model is most likely the grok wiki thing. It is just a fine tuned model trained on Wikipedia content. There are teenagers doing this kind of stuff without spending billions of dollars.
FYI: Elon has not managed to do this yet.

Last time he tired messing around with it, Grok wound up embarrassing everyone with the MechaHitler episode.

Since he's fired about 400 of the labeling team on Friday, a fix is even less likely.
Perils of being able to remember stuff more than a few weeks old is that you don't forget that Musk had said he'll fix the foundational model that his bot uses to be less woke; meanwhile, what he seems to have done is to just turn safety off or set it to the 4chan setting. Claim big things, do small

Half of the people, from the greatest country on the planet, watching Nuremberg are likely to be angry that their side wound up losing WW2.

When the change of guard happens at the annex of the new ball room, they'll have to treat every single electronic system as compromised by anyone who gently pushed the door. Something on the lines of how you would treat a compromised server. Safe to assume it is all backdoored and exfil-ed to hell.

Elon doesn't have the compute (doubt anyone does, for that matter) to change the heuristic or whatever else to Grok's models.

Besides, that's not even how this stuff works.

He's just setting the stage for the next endless outrage talking point and everyone is repeating it like it's the gospel.

Teargas gives the impression of a raging battle. It is always about the optics that, in turn, drives the narrative.

Wonder how long before people catch on to the possibility that Grok's responses on Twitter are very likely due to humans in the loop, than being 100% AI generated.

In fact, it's a great study in how you can sow discord by pretending to be AI and be seen as often taking reasonable positions.

Can't help the feeling that the man is terminally unwell. The writing is on the wall, but there's no date; perhaps a couple of years at most.

It's no comfort as it sets up even more reckless behavior. It creates an environment in which anything that assuages the fear of his mortality is possible.

Is anyone running a Polymarket bet on whether it will end up becoming a mausoleum up on completion?

Must be quite the feeling to use the US treasury as a personal checking account.

All our lives now hinge on an umodelable single point of failure called us-east-1.

What intrigues me is that these guys have been instructed to grab people in the most violent manner, to put on a show, without any fear of consequences.

On the other hand, their use of guns has been a lot more restrained, which cannot be an accident.

After having played a major role in helping Weiss ascend the throne with the relentless outrage, the progressives are marching on with the same silly strategy.

Even the right doesn't care as much about a Weiss or a Klein.

These people are insignificant and the outrage just makes them significant.

Can't escape the feeling that we're coming around to a major fork in the road. This lot can't deliver much by means of progress or prosperity across the board.

Which means the public sentiment will keep turning on them. And they are going to aim for a completely subdued/subjugated population.

It's concerning how little attention is given to the growing problem of ransomware-led cybercrime these days.

For every publicly known case (Jaguar Land Rover, British Library), there are many unpublicised ones.

The scale of these attacks are growing and it's only going to get worse.

Interesting idea: replicate the following list of a popular right wing account on X and post daily videos of what the feed looks like on a daily basis. And you will see that Portland is really burning to the ground.

What we all share as reality is shrinking day-by-day and it's not going to stop.

When you have $28.7 billion at your disposal for the current year and you start from a place where discipline and cohesion barely exists, adding more ill-adjusted people to that dumpster fire is not a very smart move. It won't be long before they're going to go completely out of control.

A superpower to have is to call them weird once again and ignore their daily noise. Focus only on what makes a difference on the ground.

And go back to finding joy, love, laughter, and art among ourselves. These are things sadistic hordes will never have.

Their superpower is being miserable.

The ferocious warrior is floating a test balloon for the top job.

The stable genius is not going to like this one bit.

The fragility has only gotten worse 8-months on.
People who readily minimize their own historic acts of subjugation and other atrocities committed on marginalized people, having experienced just a couple of decades of restorative justice, are now complaining that it's too much injustice to bear.

Such fragile creatures they are.

Ezra is someone you can blanket ignore, and nothing of any significance will change in the world.

And yet, progressives react to him like kittens chasing a bit of paper tied to a string.

I don't think I will ever stop being gobsmacked by the spectacle of hitherto prosperous countries sabotaging themselves with a near obsessive dedication to it.
September 28, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Most of the current state of affairs comes down to a single factor: the inability of the progressives to influence the narrative: be it in legacy media or in social media.

Progressives, including the leadership, are like the mini sloths in the movie Ice Age, where they mimic everything done by Sid.

There was an inevitability to it that, with the kind of money sloshing around in the foundational AI space, someone would find a way to bring 2008-era financial engineering to AI and ratchet up the systemic risk posed by the industry a 1000 times. The age of the GPU derivative is coming.

Can say with a bit more confidence that the circus has peaked. It's like a bunch of monkeys with an endless, stellar devotion to chugging the kool aid.

Governments are complex mechanisms that require competence as the baseline. Ideology alone won't be enough to run it well.

There are many things Better Than Ezra at this moment, if you know what I mean.

Good was a pretty good song.
